The Ladlers
Our opalescent combinations are still gathered from the pot furnace and carried by hand in a manner reminiscent of 19th century glass foundries. Skilled workers must learn to carry as much as 40 pounds of molten glass a distance of over 40 feet every 90 seconds through the use of a long, spoon-like tool called a "ladle."
