HOT GLASS BLOWING
A hands-on, immersive class that will give you a great appreciation for the ancient art form of glass blowing. Under the instruction of our skilled glass blowers, you will learn the basic tools and techniques of glass blowing and try your hand at gathering glass and creating an art piece or two of your own to take home.
$200 Per Student
Maximum 2 students
Students must be 18 or older
NOTE: Because hot glass projects must be annealed for 24 hours, items produced in this class will have to be picked up the following day. If you are unable to return to the studio, we can send your projects to you for the cost of shipping.
Due to safety concerns, students must arrive wearing the proper attire: substantial leather shoes, long pants (jeans or work pants), and a cotton shirt are required. Do not wear polyester or nylon, as these materials can melt to your skin if they come in contact with hot glass. The studio can be cold in the winter, so dress according to the weather.
Classes fill up fast, so you will want to sign up early.
All classes are held at 1310 South Market Street, Kokomo, IN. Please check in at the Op Shop when you arrive. All courses must be registered for in advanced, no walk-ins accepted.
When you take a class at KOG, we provide everything you need including materials, supplies, and tools.
HOW TO REGISTER: Classes may be purchased at the Op Shop or by phone: 765-457-1829. The full price is due at registration and is refundable with a minimum of 48 hours cancellation notice.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Since most of our courses involve working with materials that are either very hot or very sharp, safety is a top priority. The provided safety glasses are required in our studios and gloves must be worn while handling glass. Legs must be fully covered and open toed shoes are not allowed. We suggest that you wear older clothing to class since materials can be messy. The studios can be cold in the winter so dress according to the weather. Please come dressed appropriately.
